Curious Kit

Description

Fox kits are just priceless! I call this the curious kit because it was the one that tended to investigate any noise and not run away. Each litter of wild kits I have witnessed has one of these curious kits as each other kits has their own unique personality. Photographing wildlife is a tricky thing because in my opinion the animals should be wild and the photography should try their hardest to make the least imprint on the animals as possible. Shooting with a telephoto lens, keeping a good distance is one way to help put less of a human imprint on the wildlife. Going out alone or in small groups, spending minimal time or using a blind is another way to help. I have witnessed many people chase, harass and disturb wildlife until the animals had been so stressed they decides to move on, sometimes for the day, other times forever. This is not a good way to work with will animals and can also be extremely dangerous for both humans and the wildlife. For this image here I knew the background I wanted, setting I was going to use and waited for the wild animal to cross the path that would lead to this image. I waited not long for this opportunity, snapped a few photos and pack up with the kits still playing around. The point is I know I have made an impact no matter what with every wild animal I have photographed or encountered but if we all try to keep this impact to a minimum the wildlife will still be around for future generations.
